About Mala galerija Banke Slovenije
Banka Slovenije has a long tradition of cooperation with key cultural institutions in Slovenia. Back in the middle of the 20th century, it set aside part of its premises in the very heart of the city to be an exhibition space, which was named the Mala galerija (Little Gallery) in 1952. It was intended for small but carefully selected exhibitions of domestic and foreign artists.
At the beginning of 2019 we decided to rekindle the long-standing tradition, and return the premises of the Mala galerija Banke Slovenije to their original purpose. In cooperation with the University of Ljubljana we opened the door to young artists.
Each year Mala galerija Banke Slovenije (MGBS) plans a series of exhibitions featuring artists and creatives from various schools within the University of Ljubljana who work in fine art, sculpture, photography, design, textiles, architecture and landscape architecture, music, computer tech and acting. We have also entered into cooperation in a number of far-reaching Slovenian and international art projects that take place in the capital city. The exhibitions will be accompanied by a range of talks, roundtables, workshops, literary and music evenings, auctions and similar events.
