Bank Resolution
The Single Resolution Board is the European banking union’s resolution authority, and its mission is to ensure the orderly resolution of failing banks when recovery measures and supervisory intervention are not enough to rectify the difficulties.
The Single Resolution Board (SRB) is responsible for the resolution system at banking union level, while the national resolution authorities hold responsibility at the national level. The demarcation between the two is the same as in supervision: the SRB is responsible for resolution for banks under direct ECB supervision (significant institutions), while banks whose supervision is conducted by national supervisors (less significant institutions) are the responsibility of the national resolution authorities. Banka Slovenije is the national resolution authority in Slovenia. A list of significant and less significant institutions can be found on this link.
