Banka Slovenije is taking orders until 30 March for purchases of numismatic products minted in 2026. This year we will issue occasional coins marking the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Cankar, and also the Year of the Poet Srečko Kosovel.
A commemorative coin is being issued to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Cankar, who is considered the greatest Slovenian writer and playwright, as well as a pioneer of Slovenian modernism. The issuance of collector coins will commemorate the Year of the Poet Srečko Kosovel, one of the most prominent representatives of Slovenian modernist poetry and a central figure of twentieth-century Slovenian literature.
Selected numismatic products can be ordered until 30 March 2026 via Banka Slovenije’s online app, with limited quantities available to individuals, businesses and institutions alike. Information about the production quantities is available at this link, while the selling price of the aforementioned products will be published on the Banka Slovenije website once determined.
If there are sufficient numismatic products available to cover all the orders received, Banka Slovenije will reserve the ordered quantity for every buyer. If orders exceed the quantity available for sale, the items will be distributed among the buyers in accordance with the General terms and conditions for ordering numismatic products for 2026. The reserved coins are anticipated to be available for purchase and collection in May or June 2026.
Information about the precise sale and circulation release dates for numismatic products minted in 2026 and about the deadlines for collecting ordered items will be provided to the public in good time via the Banka Slovenije website, or by email in the case of online orders.
With this year, we are introducing a new option – when placing an order for numismatic products in the online application, you may optionally select (i.e., tick) the option to consent to the use of your email address for notifications about the start of collecting orders via online ordering system. As of March 2026, Moro & Kunst will cease providing the service of selling numismatic products of Banka Slovenije and the Republic of Slovenia. Therefore, the collection of numismatic products for 2026 and onwards through them will no longer be possible.
