Commemorative coins marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Miki Muster and sets of euro coins for 2025 are being released for circulation and sale by Banka Slovenije on 26 November 2025. The online orders have been reserved, and will be available for collection at selected collection points until 9 December 2025, the products will also be freely available for sale.
On the 100th anniversary of the birth of Miki Muster, we are issuing a commemorative coin featuring his iconic comic strip characters – Zvitorepec, Trdonja, and Lakotnik. A sculptor and pioneer of Slovenian comics, Muster has left his mark on Slovenian and European illustration and animation through his stories, picture books, and animated films. His works, ranging from comics to advertising films, have become part of the cultural heritage that this coin commemorates. Created by Robert Žvokelj, the design clearly shows the characters' defining characteristics: Trdonja's stubbornness, Zvitorepec's cunning nature, and Lakotnik's insatiable appetite.
This year Banka Slovenije has again made it possible to submit advance orders for the year’s numismatic products. We have received more than a thousand orders from individuals, businesses and institutions, for which we have reserved all ordered quantities. Collection of the reserved quantities of the final part of numismatic products for 2025 – commemorative coins and sets of 2025 coins – will be possible at their selected collection point between 26 November and 9 December 2025.
The commemorative coins and sets of 2025 coins will also be freely available for sale from 26 November, as usual at the Banka Slovenije counters, at selected branches of Deželna banka Slovenije and from Moro & Kunst. The selling prices of all numismatic products minted in 2025 can be found on this link.
To ensure that numismatic products are available to the widest possible circle of collectors, Banka Slovenije has introduced purchase limits on two items offered for sale. Each customer may buy one commemorative coin marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Miki Muster in proof quality (sales price EUR 17) and one set of 2025 coins in proof quality (sales price EUR 90). These limits apply to both natural persons and legal entities. Customers whose ordered quantities have already been reserved through the online ordering system will be able to purchase the quantities allocated to them, but they will not be eligible to buy an additional piece of either of the above-mentioned items.
There are no purchase limits on the commemorative coin brilliant uncirculated (sales price EUR 2) or the set of coins brilliant uncirculated (sales price EUR 30).
