Bodi FIN project gets the results of its nationwide competition

March 31, 2025

The first set of financial whizzkids have emerged from the Bodi FIN project, which is organised by Banka Slovenije in cooperation with the ministry of finance as part of the ongoing work to improve the financial literacy of young people. More than three thousand students from fourth to ninth grade of primary school have taken part in the project, with 92 students earning gold awards in a competition testing their financial knowledge through the lens of their own financial security.

Banka Slovenije has been strengthening its efforts to improve the financial literacy of children and young people. A number of activities have been carried out in this regard, but a new highlight of this academic year is the Bodi FIN project. The project was launched in cooperation with the ministry of finance, and is aimed at students in grades four to nine of primary school. Around 3,000 students from 85 different primary schools across Slovenia are taking part.

Mentors were sent exercises to prepare their students for the competition, with extra help from workshops delivered at school by Banka Slovenije staff. The project concluded with a nationwide schools competition held during Global Money Week. Gold awards went to 92 of the 1,200 competition participants. In Banka Slovenije we feel that the students showed good knowledge of financial content, and we are particularly pleased that the project has helped to include more content of this kind in the education process.

Project participants are invited to the closing ceremony to be held at Banka Slovenije on 18 April, which will be attended by the Finance Minister Klemen Boštjančič and Acting Governor Primož Dolenc.
