Banka Slovenije is proud holder of the Family Friendly Enterprise Certificate, which is awarded by the Ekvilib Institute. Over the ten years we have held the certificate, we have carried out a range of activities aimed at creating a working environment that supports employees in their efforts to strike a good work-life balance, and promoting a culture of intergenerational cooperation and solidarity.
In March 2025 we passed the audit of measures that Ekvilib carries out to make sure that companies are still eligible to hold the certificate, and had our certificate extended for a further three years. At the gala ceremony, we also received a special commendation for a decade of family-friendly employment practice and for the contribution we have made to promoting family-friendly company culture in Slovenia.
Over the last decade we have carried out a large number of activities that make it easier for employees to balance their work and home lives. By the end of last year, we had carried out 17 such measures, and continually work to enhance and improve them.
Employees have the option of working from home, and enjoy flexible working hours and numerous other forms of support, and the children’s time bonus and the holiday day for children make it even easier for employees to coordinate their family and work commitments. Banka Slovenije also promote volunteering, and have done so on several occasions in collaboration with the Slovenska Filantropija organisation. Together we are helping to strengthen social responsibility and links with the local community.
Our commitment to creating a stimulating and inclusive working environment is also confirmed by the fact that the Reputable Employer survey, which invites job candidates to evaluate the reputation and reputability of Slovenian employers, had made Banka Slovenije the number one organisation within the banking sector for several years now.
We are proud of the road we have travelled, and will continue to help create a family-friendly central bank with the same dedication in the years to come.
