A series of meetings held at Deputy level within the IMF and the World Bank Group (WBG) came to a close last weekend in Ljubljana. The meetings were hosted by Tina Žumer, Vice Governor of Banka Slovenije, and Nikolina Prah, State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance.
These meetings are vital for strengthening cooperation and the coordination of positions between member-states of the two international financial institutions. The event brought senior representatives of the IMF and the WBG together with representatives of finance ministries and central banks from Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Hungary, Kosovo, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Slovenia and Türkiye, who work together within the joint constituencies at the IMF and the WBG.
The participants discussed the global, European, and regional economic outlooks, the review of program design and conditionality policy within IMF assistance programmes, and the World Bank’s future strategic directions. The meeting opened with speeches by Vice Governor Ms Žumer, Slovenian Minister of Finance Klemen Boštjančič, and Bo Li, Deputy Managing Director of the IMF.
