Today, 3 February 2026, National Assembly appointed Primož Dolenc as the sixth Governor of Banka Slovenije. He will take up his position, and start his new term of office as member of the Governing Board of Banka Slovenije, once the internal procedures stipulated by the Banka Slovenije Act have been completed.
Upon his appointment, Primož Dolenc expressed, among other priorities, his commitment to continuing efforts to adapt the banking system to the needs of the people: ‘I am delighted that the members of the National Assembly have acknowledged my efforts over the last year – indeed, over the decade I have been working at Banka Slovenije. As I begin this term of office, I am committed to realising the vision of continuing to adapt the financial system to the needs of the people, and to strengthen its stability, resilience and accessibility. I will do my utmost to work in a constructive way with all stakeholders, and to engage at all times in open, professional dialogue.’
