Today marked the conclusion of the regular consultations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission in Slovenia. The purpose of these consultations is to review the recent economic developments, the functioning of the financial sector and the banking system and challenges ahead. The first findings were presented at today’s press conference.
During the consultations, the IMF delegation headed by Huidan Lin, the new mission chief for Slovenia, met representatives of Banka Slovenije, the Ministry of Finance, other ministries, the IMAD, the Fiscal Council, the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Slovenian-German Chamber of Commerce, the Institute for Economic Research, the National Assembly, the Bank Association of Slovenia, and selected commercial banks and trade unions.
The mission report for Slovenia under Article IV will be discussed by the IMF’s Executive Board at the end of January 2026. This will bring a formal end to the Article IV consultations with Slovenia.
The closing findings were presented by Huidan Lin, the new mission chief, with additional comments from Klemen Boštjančič, the finance minister, and Primož Dolenc, Acting Governor of Banka Slovenije.
