Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group

The Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group is taking place in Washington, D.C. from 20 to 22 April 2018.

In the role of the Alternate Governor of the IMF's Board of Governors, Vice Governor Irena Vodopivec Jean will attend the meeting of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC). The IMFC meets twice a year, at the Spring Meetings and during the IMF-WB Annual Meetings. The IMFC will discuss the current developments in the global economy and on the international financial markets, forecasts of future developments and possible policy responses. The programme also includes discussions regarding the IMF’s Global Policy Agenda.

 In Washington, Vice Governor Irena Vodopivec Jean will also attend a number of bilateral meetings with representatives of the IMF. The meetings will be held with the representatives of the European Department, with Mr. Poul Thomsen, Director of the EU Department, Mr. Bernandin Akitoby, new IMF's Mission Chief for Slovenia as well as with Mr. Paul Mathieu, Regional Advisor for Europe of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department. She will also attend the meeting of the Central and Eastern European IMF Constituency, member of which is also Slovenia, and will separately meet Ms. Michaela Erbenova, Executive Director of the constituency.
